Safeguarding God’s Children
Anyone volunteering in any capacity in our independent Phoenix private school is required to take Safeguarding God's Children, a child abuse awareness and prevention class required at all Episcopal Private Schools in the United States. The class takes approximately three hours and is good for five years.

          2011-2012 Schedule:
Wednesday, August 31 - 4 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, January 21 - 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wednesday, May 9 - 4 to 7 p.m.
All classes are held in St. Barbara I and II.

Parenting with Love and Logic
Six-week parent education classes will be offered each semester, available to all parents.
2011-2012 Schedule:
Session 1 - Thursdays - 8 to 10 a.m., October 13, 20, 27 and November 3,10,17
Session 2 - Thursdays - 8 to 10 a.m., March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5
All classes are held in St. Barbara I and II.

Life Skills Program
The Life Skills Curriculum for Lower School teaches students the skills necessary for healthy social and emotional development.  Students will have opportunities both to learn and to apply skills necessary for identifying everyday challenges and to practice strategies to help them make responsible decisions in a safe and supportive environment.  The Curriculum will cover issues involving:
  • Emotional Literacy and Empathy Training.
  • Anger Management.
  • Stress Management.
  • Conflict Resolution.
  • Joining a Group and Making New Friends.
  • Internet Safety.
  • Responsibility Project – Doing the Right Thing.
  • Promoting Behaviors which Prevent Bullying and Harassment.
  • Character Traits.
  • Behaviors that Support The All Saints’ Way.
The Life Skills Curriculum for Middle School teaches students the skills necessary for healthy adolescent development.  Students will have opportunities both to learn and to apply skills necessary for identifying everyday challenges and to practice strategies to help them make responsible decisions in a safe and supportive environment.  The Curriculum will cover issues involving:
  • Substance Abuse.
  • Body Changes.
  • Adolescent Challenges.
  • Stress Management.
  • Internet Safety.
  • Friendships and Healthy Relationships.
This class is taught as part of religion class by the School Counselor once per week for one quarter per middle school grade.

Common Sense Media 
All Saints' Episcopal Day School is becoming a "Common Sense Media" school, and will offer education to both teachers and parents about media safety, along with book and movie reviews for children of all ages. This will assist parents in making decisions about the ever-growing access to media and internet.
