Third Grade Presents Heroes and Heroines Projects

Each student in third grade chose someone he/she thinks has made a significant difference in the lives of others. Then on presentation day Manning Hall was transformed into a museum, and the children came to school costumed as their hero/heroine.
Students in third grade presented their Heroes and Heroines projects on Monday, May 23. Students first read a biography and completed research about their chosen hero/heroine. The research included information on the childhood, adulthood, accomplishments, and later years of the person chosen.  Each student completed a full report and then created a display board to present to the School. On the day of the presentations, students dressed as their hero/heroine and shared their lives and the effects of their deeds with parents and guests.

It was a wonderful learning experience for the students and everyone had a good time presenting the life of their chosen hero/heroine.
