Special Guest Rabbi Rony Keller

This week’s Chapel featured a very special guest who spoke with us about the Jewish faith and some of its rituals and traditions.  Rabbi Rony Keller from Congregation Beth Israel in Scottsdale has visited All Saints’ three times in as many years to discuss Judaism with the students.

During his most recent visit, Rabbi Keller spoke about the four different movements and ways to practice Judaism: Orthodox, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Reform (he is a Reform Rabbi).  He also shared the meanings of several traditional Jewish ritual objects, like the prayer book—or Mishkan T’filah—which contains prayers written in both Hebrew and English.  We also discussed the meaning of the prayer shawl, or Tallit, worn during daytime prayer.

A wonderful morning filled with laughter and interesting lessons was had by all.  Special thanks to Rabbi Keller for coming back to All Saints’ to share his faith and traditions with us!
